It’s Time is an unprecedented coalition of 50 Israeli peace and civil society organizations, who joined forces following the October 7 attack and the ensuing war in Gaza, determined to end this war - and make it the last. Launched at a huge peace rally in Tel Aviv this past July, attended by 6,000 people, Jews and Arabs alike, and live streamed by tens of thousands more, we gathered to call: It’s time to end the war, It’s time to reach a deal, It’s time to make peace.
As the first unified body representing the Israeli peace movement, this coalition calls for a resolution of the conflict through a diplomatic agreement based on justice, equality and the rights of both Israelis and Palestinians to safety, dignity and self-determination. The coalition includes Jewish and Palestinian citizens of Israel from across the country as well as Palestinian and international partners around the world. By uniting diverse peace organizations and activists, the coalition represents a historic turning point for the Israeli peace movement, overcoming decades of fragmentation and creating a cohesive, powerful force for change.
In these dark times, it is critical to demonstrate, both domestically and internationally, that there is a vast camp of Israelis who are driven by an unwavering commitment to create a just and viable alternative to the perpetual policies of war, occupation, oppression, and hostility pursued by our extremist right-wing government that only serve to bolster radical forces across the region. In the midst of this devastating war, the Israeli peace camp stands revitalized, committed, and unified in a manner not seen in Israel for decades.
Since our launch event, we have established a collaborative and inclusive framework for the over 50 organizations to effectively drive momentum and advance the coalition’s collective efforts.
We have set out an action plan for the next 6 months, and the first action item on that plan was just completed! On December 4, It’s Time embarked on the People’s Peace Journey, a transformative, six-day nationwide initiative that brought together thousands of Israelis and Palestinians, amplifying the voices of peace across 14 events from Shfaram in the north all the way to Netiv HaAsara in the south. From vibrant cities to rural communities, Jewish and Arab, this unprecedented journey engaged people from all walks of life, demonstrating the breadth and strength of the peace camp. It served as a critical opportunity for individuals who believe in peace to feel heard, empowered, and part of a larger, united community. The People’s Peace Journey proved that the peace movement is stronger together and committed to building a future of justice, security, and coexistence.
Help us continue this historic effort as we set out to deliver ongoing grassroots efforts, and prepare for our next major event—the People’s Peace Summit—this April, 2025!
